- La Grave
- The Asfeld Bridge
1. La Grave : At an altitude of 1,450 metres, in the heart of the Ecrins massif, La Grave is a balcony overlooking the mythical summit of the Meije, kingdom of off-piste skiers. The trabucs, these old-fashioned alleys that weave a narrow network between the houses, will lead you to the top of the village, to the charming church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption. From there, the view of the Ecrins massif, over the Romanche, is a real treat.
2. The Asfeld Bridge : Between the Fort des Têtes and the upper town, the elegant silhouette of the Asfeld bridge boldly spans the Durance gorges with a single arch over a 55 m drop. This bridge owes its name to the Marquis d'Asfeld, director general of fortifications and successor to Vauban, who presided over its construction between 1729 and 1731.
