The Lubéron

The Lubéron massif stretches over 60 km between Manosque and Cavaillon, with an average width of only 5 km. It is therefore relatively easy to walk around it and to discover the many points of interest in the area on this 250 km (5.5 hours) tour.

There are 4 tourist stops on this route. You are free to stay for a few minutes or a few hours.

  1. Lourmarin
  2. Ocres de Rustrel
  3. Gordes
  4. Ménerbes

1. Lourmarin:  Between the Durance and the Luberon, in the middle of olive and fruit trees, Lourmarin gives its taste for the arts and for innovation all the charm of its Provencal identity.

2. Ocres de Rustrel: Les Ocres de Rustrel, or more commonly "The Provençal Colorado" is an old ochre quarry. This site has been entirely shaped by the hands of the ochre workers. Thus you will discover working faces, basins, water pipes and engines. These are all vestiges of an industrial past.

3. Gordes:  On the borders of the Luberon Regional Natural Park, in the heart of the Vaucluse mountains, Gordes is the emblem of the Provençal hilltop village. Described, photographed and admired a thousand times, it owes its aura to the illustrious artists who once revealed it and left a cultural imprint that is still alive today.

4. Ménerbes: At the top of a rocky outcrop overlooking the vineyards, Ménerbes celebrates, through its wine and truffle production, the entire Luberon terroir. From Nicolas de Staël to Peter Mayle and Picasso, many artists have been seduced by the gentle way of life in the village.
